Don't Rule Out The Benefits of EV Ethernet AS-Interface Gateways

Posted by Danius Silgalis on Fri, Apr 21, 2017

AS-Interface gateways control the AS-Interface system and make the process data available to all higher-level networks of the PLC in a defined configuration. Pepperl+Fuchs offers AS-Interface gateways for all standard buses such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, DeviceNet and CC-Link. When considering EtherNet/IP or MODBUS/TCP gateways for AS-Interface networks, keep these benefits in mind:

Don't Rule Out The Benefits of EV Ethernet AS-Interface Gateways

1. Dual AS-Interface connectivity

Connect up to 62 nodes on each AS-Interface network. Since a gateway provides connectivity to two networks, you have the ability to connect up to 124 nodes.

Dual AS-Interface Connectivity2. Connection to multiple protocols

ENX Gateways provide the ability to connect to EtherNet/IP or MODBUS/TCP based on application needs.

3. DLR (Device Level Ring) support

These units have two Ethernet ports allowing connection of the AS-Interface gateways in a ring topology.
